DOLPHIN INKS commenced manufacture of Liquid Inks in a small 6000 sq.ft. facility at Ambad in Nasik, India in 1984. Initially, the company manufactured a range of marking and coding inks used primarily to print variable information such as Batch No. et al on product packs and shippers.

In the late eighties, the company embarked on an in-house development effort f bigger attritors and triple roll mills and a full-fledged Quality Control Lab was set up.

Having carved out a major share in the niche water-based ink segment, the company has in the course of 1997-98 introduced water-based overprint varnishes as well. The product has met with early success and is rated by many competitors to be superior to other locally available water-based OPV's.

The current year also witnessed several R & D manhours devoted to developing Ink-Jet inks. The results thus far have been promising but further on site testing is planned before a formal product launch.

On the export front whilst marking & coding inks were shipped to Australia, Bangladesh, Middle East Countries, Water-Based Inks were exported to Far East Countries, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
